In accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation on Data Protection) - referred to as "RODO", the University of Economics in Poznań informs that:
Data controller
The controller of your personal data is the Poznań University of Economics and Business with its seat in Poznań (61-875), Al. Purposes of processing and legal basis for processing
Your personal data will be processed by the University in order to:
- registering your account in the USOS system and verifying your identity related to secure login;
- carry out and adjudicate the recruitment procedure for the selected field of study;
- to provide you with access to information on the University's activities, including the teaching offer on the basis of your voluntarily given consent (Article 1(a) of the RODO);
- in the case of enrolment for the purposes of fulfilling the legal obligations incumbent on the Administrator (implementation of the educational process, documentation of the course of study, social support, participation in student organisations, participation in student exchange programmes, archiving and statistical purposes) in connection with the implementation of the tasks set out in the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended) and executive acts issued on the basis thereof - on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) of the RODO;
- arising from accounting, tax and accounting regulations - on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) of the RODO;
- the performance of a contract or taking action at the request of a person prior to the conclusion of a contract to which the student is a party - on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) RODO;
- the establishment, investigation and defence of mutual claims - on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) RODO, i.e. the Administrator's legitimate interest;
- to ensure and enhance the security of persons on the premises of UEP through the use of video surveillance, as well as to provide access to the university's email and the university's dedicated IT infrastructure, in connection with the performance of a task carried out in the public interest on the basis of Article 6(1)(e) of the RODO in connection with Article 50 of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6(1)(a, b, c) RODO and the provisions of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2023, item 742 as amended). For purposes other than the above, personal data will be processed on the basis of your consent, for the purpose and to the extent specified therein, pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the RODO and, in the case of special categories of personal data, pursuant to Article 9(2)(a) of the RODO.
Scope of data processing
The University processes the following personal data of the candidate for studies included in the application documents: name and surname, surname at birth, date and place of birth, PESEL number or, if there is no PESEL number, the name and number of the identity document and the name of the issuing country, gender, address of residence, correspondence address, e-mail address, contact telephone number, nationality and, in the case of foreigners, also the name of the country of birth, the name of the issuing authority, the number and date and place of issue of the education document, the bank account number and the address of the person ordering the payment.
Data retention period
Your personal data will be processed:
- in the case of candidates who have been admitted to the degree programme - for the entire duration of the educational process and will then be archived and kept for 50 years;
- in the case of candidates who have not been admitted to a course of study, for the duration of the enrolment process and thereafter for a period of 6 months;
- for the period resulting from accounting, tax and accounting regulations;
- for the duration of the contract, as well as until the end of the period during which the Administrator is obliged to demonstrate the fulfilment of the obligations related to the conclusion and performance of the contract as provided for by generally applicable laws;
- in the event of counterclaims, for the duration of the proceedings and thereafter for the period and to the extent required by generally applicable law;
- in the form of electronically recorded video surveillance images, for a period not exceeding 3 months from the date of recording. In cases where the image recordings will constitute evidence in proceedings under the law, or where PUEB has become aware that they may constitute evidence in the proceedings, the retention period may be extended until the proceedings have become final;
- in connection with your participation in the graduate career monitoring programme, for a period of up to 10 years from the date of your graduation;
- where consent has been given, for the period necessary until the purpose for which they were collected has been fulfilled or until consent to the processing of personal data is withdrawn/objection to processing is lodged, whichever occurs first.
Voluntary data provision
The provision of personal data is a statutory requirement and you are obliged to provide it. This data is necessary for the recruitment process. If you do not provide this personal data, you will not participate in the recruitment process. The provision of personal data processed on the basis of your consent is voluntary; should you fail to provide such data, you will not be able to participate in the recruitment process.
Recipients of data
Authorised employees of the Poznań University of Economics and Business, including members of the admissions committees, will have access to your personal data.
Recipients of your data may also be entities entitled to receive them on the basis of generally applicable laws and entities providing services to the University on the basis of contracts concluded for the entrustment of personal data processing, and these entities will be obliged to maintain the confidentiality of personal data processing.
Rights related to data processing
You have the right to access the content of your personal data, to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, to withdraw the consent you have given and to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority for the protection of personal data, i.e. the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw.
Information on non-automated decision-making
No decisions will be taken on the basis of your personal data that are based solely on automated processing and will not be subject to profiling.

The Poznan University of Economics and Business is not responsible for any erroneous data provided by you.
